WANTED FOR MELROSE DRAMA: Steve Black (MPS Arts Director, sblack@melroseschools.com) is looking for old windows for a Sweeney Todd set piece (design by FYACS collaboration with MHS art students). If you have any in your old Melrose home lying around, please email Steve.

What’s in The Kitchen? If you missed our Intro to Culinary Arts Series, Chef Brian is running another 6-week series beginning May 9th (we just pushed back the date).  The series sold out last session and are working on creating a follow up series for more advanced cooking methods. In the meantime, if you missed the series, please join us this round! Because of instruction we are limiting the entire course to 16 participants.

Teen Classes at The Kitchen! The Kitchen is now offering a Supper Club for ages 10+Kids will make their own supper with Chef Brian on several Tuesday evenings, 5:30pm-7:30pm. First class is April 23, and they will be making Empanadas and other Tex Mex dishes. We are extending our Baking around the World class for Teens with Chef Deniz, dates have been added weekly from April 24th-May 15th, 3:30pm.

Spring classes at Follow Your Art Community Studios! Check out their catalogue with clickable links to our Spring classes. Classes begin the week of April 22nd and run 6/7 weeks. All ages (toddler-adults!)

Melrose Arts Festival Seeks Volunteers! Have you ever wanted to volunteer at the annual Melrose Arts Festival held at Memorial Hall? This wonderful community event is still looking for a few people who can help. It’s a great way to show your support of our arts community. So if you have some time on the weekend of April 26th and 27th we’d love to have you consider helping out. If you are interested, go to the website melrosearts.com and click on the button that says “Learn more”  Many thanks for considering!

April break at The Kitchen! If you haven’t made April break plans for your kids, we have a lot of spots available for our April break “camps” for ages 5-9 (9am-11am) and 10+ (1pm-4pm). Every day students will cook something new. So students can sign up for the whole week or just one day. The 10+ Class on Monday has a menu listed, for the Tuesday-Friday class with Chef Brian, students will start with a Southern menu and vote each day for the next recipes, inspired from Alton Brown’s Cookbooks.
